What I do
-
Board Member
My approach is rooted in specialized Board education focused on startups and scaleups, but more importantly, in my hands-on experience as a founder.
I don’t just “sit” on Boards — I actively work to drive growth and success when serving on them.
Depending on the need, I either join the Board or assist in constructing effective Advisory Boards or Boards.
-
Startup Advisory
In the startup world, everyone wants a stake in your equity, making it challenging to get short-term advice without giving up long-term gains.
My goal is to help startups increase their success rates, which is why I’ve decided to offer by-the-hour advisory services at a rate below my own cost.
Startups typically engage with me for 5-10 sessions, where we collaborate on key areas such as strategy, funding, commercial growth, team development, and leadership.
-
Corporate Advisory
With experience running innovation programs, corporate venture building, and venture capital working alongside CVCs, being a founder and former corporate executive, I advise on strategy, setup, selection, procurement, and achieving organizational buy-in.
My work typically revolves around two key areas:
1. Ensuring tangible results in the world of innovation.
2. Navigating the common challenges that lead to the closure of corporate innovation initiatives after 2-4 years.
-
Investing
I’m currently involved with approximately 30 startups and have worked with more, gaining experience in what drives success.
I remain open to angel investing in startups, syndicates, and funds.
Previously, I co-founded Motion Ventures, and now co-building Tidal, an industry-backed fund focused on the energy transition within the maritime ecosystem. Tidal invests in corporate-backed hardware and software technology companies across Europe.
-
Software building
I believe many more industry corporations can build and own their own software solutions by overcoming a number of key challenges.
At Sea, a global tech scaleup, we specialize in creating solutions tailored to the specific needs of maritime corporations.
We are also pioneering a new approach where multiple corporations collaborate to build necessary solutions, share the cost, and co-own the IP and the final product.
-
Give back
I contribute to the Executive Board Education at the Danish Technical University, the Centre of Entrepreneurship, and the development of emerging engineering talent. I further participate in the commercialization of IP/patented deep-tech spin-outs.
I am passionate about strengthening the Danish maritime ecosystem, which is at risk of falling behind other nations, and I work to connect stakeholders and initiatives to foster collaboration.
Additionally, I am deeply interested in life and technology in the oceans, with a focus on preserving planetary boundaries.
